I’m Afreed, a software engineer and researcher interested in product engineering, performant systems and post-training. I study computer science at the University of Waterloo.

i’m currently an MTS intern at Liquid working out of their NYC office, building low-latency trading infrastructure and a suite of financial products bringing agentic trading to all. i’ve worked with Bindwell (YC W25). I was also the first engineering hire at Trident (YC S26).

I am a quant dev at WAT.street using agent swarms to simulate different classes of institutional investors analyzing a stock to arrive at a price target. At WAT.ai, I researched how to train models to read lips.

In my spare time, I enjoy tinkering with databases and transformers, writing code by hand and rediscovering landmark breakthroughs. I’ve built a high-performance vector database and a local version of WisprFlow. i achieved world highest grades in cs.
